Tradeoff between ability and intentions

While working for Sankalp, daily we come across people who want to help. These people belong to one of the two categories.
Each person from any of the above groups comes into the organization with some intention. Some people come with many good intentions but still they have a small part of them looking towards profiting from the work they do in some way or the other.
We are a 100% Voluntary Organization of service minded people. We consider service our duty and not charity. We say, we do it for Ourself.
What I wonder is whether we should allow people with good expertise to work for us even if they look towards a personal profit. If we do, we accelerate into future easily and in a more refined manner. If we do not, we have to struggle to be able to get close to that expert level.
What is your opinion?

Personal Profit
Dilution of purpose
Intention is the key
