For Shriniwas Amit Apte, beta thalassemia has always been a part of life, but never a barrier to his dreams. Diagnosed at just six months of age, he grew up balancing regular blood transfusions, iron chelation, and academics, with the unwavering support of his parents and dedicated healthcare teams.
As he transitioned to the Sankalp Thalassemia Day Care Centre, access to comprehensive care under one roof allowed him to focus on his aspirations with confidence. He completed his engineering, worked as a mechanical engineer at Bajaj Auto, and earned admission to the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore) on his very first attempt.
Today, as he pursues his MBA, Shriniwas continues to manage thalassemia with resilience and determination. His journey reflects how care and support can empower individuals with thalassemia to pursue their ambitions and build fulfilling lives.
