We at Sankalp India Foundation get numerous blood requests. We are uniquely positioned in a sense that we tend to get the more difficult to manage blood requests - rare blood groups, difficult situations, timings, lesser known components etc. Over the years as the number of requests has increased, the good news is that we find it easier to handle the most difficult of situations.

Technically, it was not a celebration - but we could not think of a more meaningful way. We thought inching a few children closer to better care and treatment could be a nice way to express the feelings on the Republic Day.
On February 1, 2014 Sankalp's Rakta Kranti team reached a special landmark - the collection of 10,000+ units of blood in 10 months of the ongoing financial year.
The Thalassemia International Federation(T.I.F.) in association with Federation of India Thalassemiacs(F.I.T.) organised a workshop on 17-18 December 2013 in New Delhi. The workshop was aimed at capacity building the patients/parents support groups and help the groups in India formulate a clear strategy towards improving and supporting national and state efforts for better control of thalassaemia. Representatives of 7 states namely Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra attended the workshop.
Bombaybloodgroup.org has been bustling with activity in the last few months. It is the platform for the vibrant Bombay blood group community of our nation. Through rational use of blood, technology, networking and most importantly, timely and judicious blood donations, the community has been actively managing the numerous blood requests which it is getting from all over the globe.
