CTC Disha 2nd Anniversary- Blood Bank Meet:
On this Saturday the blood bank meet has been organised in Conference Hall, NIMHANS. More details about the event will be given soon.
Rakta Kranti Companies:
The 4th ITPB Camp will be held on 25/09/08 (thursday). It will be held in 3 halls and over 350 donations are expected. Hence five blood banks will be called, which are Lions, Rashtrothana, NIMHANS, Victoria and St Johns. The camp will be held from 11 a.m to 6 p.m.
Emergency Wing:There were 24 blood requests in the period of 7th September to 20th September. Of there requests, most prominent was for AB –ve group. There were 4 donations made (3 for AB –ve and 1 for Apheresis).
One of the requests was as thus: The patient was admitted in Ramaiah Hospital, and suffered from low liver damage. Other than that, his haemoglobin was less. He required 1 unit immediately. AB –ve was not available in any of the blood banks and thus had to be donated. Again the next day, the patient needed another unit. The donors who were contacted were out of station, or donated recently or of AB+. The volunteers searched everywhere including the hostel upto 1am in the night, but could not find a donor. The concerned doctor could not be contacted to know the urgency of requirement. The next morning, IISc Donors’ were called and the donations (total 2units) were made.
MSRMBDS:
The first camp to be held on 13th September had to be cancelled due to some incident in MSRIT. It was held on Tuesday (24/09/08). The number of units collected were 31 and one person fainted.
