The month of August generally has a good stock in blood banks. Good number of blood donation drives are regularly organized on the occasion of Independence Day. However, there is still scope for doing more camps as all blood banks are not filled. Sankalp pitched in and organized 8 drives to tackle this shortage. A total of 293 units were collected in the month of August.
i) AMD- 11th camp was organized in AMD on 1st August. It was a good camp with great support from company and good donor motivation and turnout. 55 units were collected in the camp.
ii) Sling Media- Sling Media organized first blood drive with Sankalp on 1st August. This was the second camp on same day. Good publicity was done for the camp with constant email reminders sent throughout camp day. This resulted in good turnout of donors. 46 units were collected in the camp.
iii) National Instruments- NI organized 4th blood drive on 2nd August. There was a constant flow of donors in the camp. 58 life savers came forward to donate and 48 units collected in 2 and a half hour camp.
iv) Interra Systems- Interra organized third camp with Sankalp on 8th August. Turnout in this camp was very low from expected. Meetings and a previous camp less than 3 months back can be attributed to low turnout. Overall 15 units were collected in the camp.
v) Idea- Third blood drive was organized in Idea on 12th August. Good publicity using posters and floor talk on the day of camp helped in motivation of donors. 40 came forward to donate with 31 of them donating blood.
vi) Education First- EF organized a camp after long time on 13th August. This was the third camp in EF. It was a good camp with 28 units collected.
vii) Inteva- Second blood drive was organized in Inteva on 21st August. 34 units were collected in the camp which is more than 22% of the total employees in the company.
viii) Vanguard Business School- Second blood donation camp was organized in Vanguard Business School where 36 units were collected.
