The Volunteers are involved in taking up and solving the blood requests (34 cases from 15th March to 31st March) and planning for the re-arrangement of the section on the site, www.sankalpindia.net. Apart from that, the Volunteers are now searching for possible blood search options throughout Karnataka.
(a) Colleges: The Blood Awareness Week held at Sapthagiri college led the institution to organizing a fabulous blood donation drive. The camp in Sapthagiri College was held on 20th March. There were two Blood banks and the number of units collected were around 275 units. With this the Team Red in Sapthagiri College becomes the first to taken an organization through teh complete cycle of awareness-education- motivation and then donation.
On 23rd March 1931, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev gave their lives for the “Independent nation” they dreamed of. But sadly, 77 years after the three men gave their lives, one can still see the exploitation and the tyranny reigning in the country.
Reporters from Vijay Karnataka and Bangalore Mirror approached Sankalp and offered to write an exclusive report on Sankalp. So we can see a report in these papers one of these days.
Volunteers approached a class of students of Sapthagiri College, and found a few volunteers in the college to spread the awareness about the blood scene in the city. These students in turn took a great initiative and took the message to all other classes. Posters were put up on Monday and the week that followed was the “Blood Awareness Week”.
After a long battle with the government hospitals on the need to have a Centralized Blood Information System and the need for the govt hospitals to participate, finally there has been some good sign
Just recently Victoria Hospital and Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health agreed to participate in CTC Disha by providing their blood statistics daily.
