Summer brings with it a strange pleasure and fun to all of us. School children look forward to summer vacations with excitement to pursue all their non curriculum activities. People plan vacations and excursions in summer, visits to hill stations are quite common.
Excitement and secret plannings.. Passing on the some details and maybe polishing the acting and mimicry skills. As and when time permits, the volunteers huddle up or individually can be seen doing this as part of the preparation for WAR OF THE VOLS being organised for first time.
Diwali is approaching and we at Sankalp have all the more reasons to celebrate the festival. A number of activities are happening, and to list them down, we have Donors' registration at MSRIT and IISc, three blood donation drives in two weeks and follow-up from the Blood Bank Meet, that is CTC Disha Awareness Campaign, phase 2.
13th September 2008, CTC Disha completed its two years. This initiative which was started to make blood search easier and simpler in Bangalore has made a difference to the blood banking system in Bangalore. Today any person looking for blood in Bangalore just needs to dial a single number 080-1062 to know the blood statistics in 13 standard blood banks in Bangalore.
The second blood donation drive for MSRMBDS was held on saturday (4/10/08). The response was good and 26 units were collected (against the permitted 20units). The permitted number of units was less this time, because of the annual blood donation drive being organised next month in MSRIT.
The next day after blood donation drive at a campus like ITPB, Emergency wing got a blood request for 1 unit of B -ve whole blood/packed cells at night. The patient was admitted to M.S.Ramaiah new Hospital and was to undergo kidney transplant. They had already called 1062 and other blood banks in the city, but in vain.
