Blood Donation Awareness Week in M.S.Ramaiah School

Skit and Talk Presentation: 31st July, 2008

This was the first school where the Blood Donation Awareness week was carried out. Though the volunteers were quite apprehensive in the beginning but with encouragement and support from the students,the skit progressed as planned.

The informative talks attracted the attention of all the students in learning something new and the students were made to understand the importance of calling 1062 in case of an emergency. The talks also informed the students about Pre-Donation, Post-Donation Care and Eligibility criteria. We were able to give in a good performance and bask in applauds from everyone.

Competitions: 4th August, 2008

The competitions went on well with creativity on display and the participants surprised everyone with their knowledge and sensible application on the topics.

Collage: The participants were supposed to make collage at home. About 3 of them submitted and all submissions were really wonderful, they had used all available resources and made it very relevant to the topics.

Essay Writing: There were about 19 students who participated. Some of the essays written by the students were highly informative and with the use of quotes at certain places made them very interesting. The quotes also showed how the participants were motivated after the programs conducted.

Painting: 30 participants selected the varied topics available and the students chose to depict their idea about Blood Donation in a colorful manner. They had made extra efforts to think about the topics and present a creative perspective.

After the competitions concluded, the volunteers had a tough time in selecting the winners. It was refreshing to see the students show an active role and it was highly motivating to see the students grasp in all the information presented to them.

Prize Distribution: Took place on 14th August, 2008 with a message given to the students not to throw about the flags after using them on Independence Day.
