The importance of Emergency wing

Emergency Wing:

The next day after blood donation drive at a campus like ITPB, Emergency wing got a blood request for 1 unit of B -ve whole blood/packed cells at night. The patient was admitted to M.S.Ramaiah new Hospital and was to undergo kidney transplant. They had already called 1062 and other blood banks in the city, but in vain. Again it was rechecked by the volunteers, but it was the same reply again.

CTC Disha 2nd Anniversary-Blood Bank Meet

CTC Disha 2nd Anniversary- Blood Bank Meet:
On this Saturday the blood bank meet has been organised in Conference Hall, NIMHANS. More details about the event will be given soon.

Rakta Kranti Companies:

The 4th ITPB Camp will be held on 25/09/08 (thursday). It will be held in 3 halls and over 350 donations are expected. Hence five blood banks will be called, which are Lions, Rashtrothana, NIMHANS, Victoria and St Johns. The camp will be held from 11 a.m to 6 p.m.

CTC Disha Anniversary coming up

CTC Disha:
The 2nd anniversary of Disha is coming up on 13th September. This initiative of Sankalp is a blood helpline number 1062, which connects 13 major blood banks in Bangalore. The program which will be held for the occasion will be soon given.

Emergency wing:
There were 11 blood requests in the previous week. But there were no donations done. Almost all the requests were fulfilled by calling 1062 or the other prominent blood banks in the city.

Independence Day updates 2008

 

Independence Day:
On Independence Day, the volunteers went to various schools and spread the message of respecting our National Flag, that is they should not be thrown down and stamped upon. Also, there was a programme especially for the volunteers to express their feelings for their Motherland. Read more about it here.

Rakta Kranti schools starting this week

Rakta Kranti:
Schools: The young and inquisitive minds are open to knowledge. And our volunteers have prepared themselves to educate the children about the importance of voluntary blood donation. The Principals were approached, the permissions were obtained and the effort which were taken were put to test for the first time with the Blood Awareness Week starting off in M.S. Ramaiah School on Monday (04/08/08). The other school to follow this week will be Chinmaya Vidyalaya where the Blood Awareness Week will start on Thursday (07/08/08).
