Meaningful progress is often built through many people coming together with a shared purpose, and April reflected exactly that through two important initiatives focused on supporting families affected by thalassemia.
On 19th April, the Jalaram Day Care Centre successfully organised a blood donation camp with active support from parents and volunteers associated with the centre. Their shared effort resulted in the collection of 128 units of blood, helping strengthen the supply needed for children and patients who depend on regular transfusions. The camp stood as a reminder of how communities can come together and directly contribute to lifesaving care.
Continuing this momentum, an HLA camp was organised on 25th April at the Health1 BMT Unit. During the camp, 14 patient families underwent HLA typing and received counselling on thalassemia cure pathways. Beyond the medical process, the session created space for families to better understand treatment options and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Together, these initiatives reflected more than participation. They represented hope, awareness, and a shared commitment to helping families move closer towards better care and the possibility of cure.
