Blood Donation Drives: Communities Stepping Forward

Throughout February, organisations and communities across the country partnered with Sankalp India Foundation to organise voluntary blood donation drives in support of children living with thalassemia and other patients who depend on safe and regular transfusions.

The month began with strong participation from Fiery Digital Imaging India Pvt. Ltd. with 63 units collected across 4–5 February, followed by Borderless Access Pvt. Ltd. contributing 49 units and Embassy Heights in association with Mercy Mission collecting 74 units. Additional drives by Firstsource (61 units), Veerashaiva Lingayat Bandhu Balaga (39 units), Alpine Eco (54 units), and Mantri Espana (24 units) continued to build the blood supply needed for ongoing patient care.

Corporate partners also played a major role. Pega India organised a combined drive across Bengaluru and Hyderabad collecting 105 units, while Infosys Mysuru contributed an impressive 139 units. Contributions also came from Ingram Micro (8 units), CISF (39 units), Meritor Commercial Vehicle Systems Pvt. Ltd. (37 units), and Salesforce India Pvt. Ltd. (26 units).

Two large drives towards the end of the month made a significant impact. Epsilon organised a two-day camp on 24–25 February collecting 250 units, while Flipkart’s drive across 26–27 February contributed 236 units, reflecting strong employee participation and commitment to voluntary donation.

Each unit of blood collected represents a lifeline for patients who require regular transfusions to survive. Sankalp India Foundation remains deeply grateful to every organisation, volunteer, and donor who stepped forward. Their commitment reminds us that voluntary blood donation remains the backbone of thalassemia care, and that saving lives is truly a collective effort.
