Deutsche Bank Team Explores Thalassemia Care

Sankalp India Foundation was honoured to host a team from Deutsche Bank for an immersive and meaningful visit to our centre. The day offered the team an opportunity to understand the realities of thalassemia care and the systems that make consistent treatment possible for children and families.

The visit began with a walkthrough of key facilities including the Sankalp Blood Centre, Child Care Home, and Day Care unit. Through these interactions, the team witnessed how safe blood collection, organised transfusion services, and coordinated care come together to support children who depend on regular treatment.

The session also explored the curative pathway through bone marrow transplantation, helping participants understand how timely diagnosis, donor matching, and specialised clinical care can offer children a life free from thalassemia. Discussions highlighted why sustained voluntary blood donation remains the backbone of transfusion support and transplant success.

The most memorable moments came during the interaction with our young patients. Through games, creative activities, and simple conversations, the volunteers connected warmly with the children, filling the space with laughter and genuine joy.

The day concluded with shared reflections over lunch, reinforcing that meaningful partnerships grow through presence, empathy, and a shared commitment to making a difference. Sankalp India Foundation remains grateful to Deutsche Bank for spending time with our children and families, and for standing alongside us in the journey towards a thalassemia free future.
