Seven Hours Through Flooded Roads, Because Transfusions Cannot Wait

Heavy rain flooded Ahmedabad’s roads, but patients at Sankalp’s Jalaram Centre were due for transfusions. Waiting for the weather to improve was not an option.

At 7 a.m., our Logistics Coordinator left for Blood Bank to collect blood units samples. The journey lasted until 2 p.m. Meanwhile, the team kept the center running and completed every transfusion. By day’s end, no patient had missed care.

This was Sankalp in its truest sense! A promise made to every patient and kept well, even when the road ahead was under water.
