I see an opprtunity for Indian Software houses in what has happened. It is the bleakest hour in the industry. Such dark times are a good starting point for internal reforms. It is a good time to make organizations fundamentally strong by ushering in better practices. On a brighter day, when things will be looking great, the focus will be on external factors and delivery. If our companies make use of this one hard lesson, they will mature further in the world of s/w industries.

It's actually like this "Tough time dont last but tough people last" It goes inline with companies too. If the fundamentals of companies are good, it will help it to build for good times. When good time will come it will deliver better result than now. Lastly, Tough times are good time to test your fundamentals.
