Bombay Blood Group Donor Meet - July 2012

The first ever meeting of the very special people who have the rarest of rare Bombay Blood Group (BBG) was organised by Sankalp India Foundation on 1st July 2012. Though many more donors were expected to attend the program, eventually we had the participation of 9 BBG donors and 6 family members. The few hours spent together led to extremely productive discussions which should go a long way in improving the availability of BBG for the Society.

Rakta Kranti Across Karnataka

 

'This was a terrible summer for Karnataka. Not  Only did the summer temperatures soar higher than ever before, there was a severe shortage of blood across the state. Sankalp's Rakta Kranti team tried to pull in as many blood donation drives as possible to address this need 13 Sankalp blood donation drives were held in (Bangalore, Mysore, Dharwad, Belgaum in the month of May leading to a collection of more than 2000 units of blood. here, is a snapshot of these drives.

 

 

A dream enters its 10th year

On 23rd ,May 2003 when the pledge was taken never to let anyone die because of shortage of blood- Sankalp was born. 9 years have passed since that summer night. Sankalp have stood the test of time. 'With patience, persistence and commitment the organisation has ensured that the vision of the volunteers is delivered as rear work to the society.
