Aug 15, 2017: The 71st Independence Day celebrations will usher in cheer and new hope for hundreds of thalassaemic in Dakshina Kannada district.
A thalassaemia day care centre with six beds in RAPCC building (second floor) in district Wenlock Hospital will be inaugurated on August 15 at 11 am, said Wenlock Hospital superintendent and district surgeon Dr Rajeshwari Devi H R.
Thalassaemia day-care centre to open today
The Government Wenlock Hospital will open a six-bed day-care centre for thalassaemia patients on Tuesday.
Hospital Superintendent H.R. Rajeshwaridevi said the centre will operate on the second floor of the Regional Advanced Paediatric Care Centre. It will move to the ground floor of the hospital’s new medical block that will be ready by October.

Rakta Kranti
With the onset of the new financial year, Sankalp Rakta Kranti Team looked to make a strong start with plenty of blood drives catering to the summer period. On the back of a year with close to 12,000 units collection having gone by, the team wanted to maintain the same momentum. In summary, 1055 units were collected in 13 drives. We had about 3% of donors having post donation complications and the percentage of deferrals for the month was 22.3.
3rd Anniversary of the Thal Day Care
