Hi Thank you for reminding me, that this day the 26th of July, means so much to all of us Indians. For my part my friend's father too had sacrificed himself to give us our today. I pray, you all pray for him too. I myself, living in a border area and having many army personnel as close friends congratulate the martyrs and their family for their selfless sacrifice. Quoted by a survival of the Kargil Jawans " These wounds in our body are not from running away from guns, but from trying to face them, in trying to push the enemy back." Jai Hind!

this news swept across all the news channels 'Sanjay Dutt relieved by court'. 'Sirf Munna not a bhai' '13 saal ka vanvaas khatam' 'although found guilty for possession of armory, Sanjay can breath sigh of relief as all the TADA charges against him are withdrawn' Then many personalities like Salman Khan said 'He is a good person. We knew he will come out clean'. Mr Big B said "Dutt's family and our family have relations for years he's a good kid. He is like elder brother to Abhishek". His sister Priya Dutt said "we can sleep well tonight. It 's a great relief" In other news, Parliament was mad at Indian team for performing bad; Greg Chappell said something; Shah Rukh Khan replaces Amitabh in KBC and other such stuff. But most of the emphasis was given on Sanjay Dutt's "phoenix like" comeback from the ashes of terrorist charges. Surfing through the channels, one news on BBC startled me. It read "Hisbul Mujahidin's most wanted terrorist 'Sohel Faisal' killed in Anantnag, India. Indian Major leading the operation lost his life in the process. Four others are injured. It was past midnight, I started visiting the stupid Indian channels, but Sanjay Dutt was still ruling. They were telling how Sanjay pleaded to the court saying 'I'm the sole bread earner for my family', 'I have a daughter who is studying in US' and so on. Then they showed how Sanjay was not wearing his lucky blue shirt while he was hearing the verdict and also how he went to every temple and prayed for the last few months. A suspect in Mumbai bomb blasts, convicted under armory act…was being transformed into a hero. Sure Sanjay Dutt has a daughter; Sure he did not do any terrorist activity. Possessing an AK47 is considered too elementary in terrorist community and also one who possesses an AK47 has a right to possess a pistol so that again is not such a big crime; Sure Sanjay Dutt went to all the temples; Sure he did a lot of Gandhigiri but then……….. Major Manish H Pitambare got the information from his sources about the terrorists' whereabouts. Wasting no time he attacked the camp, killed Hisbul Mujahidin's supremo and in the process lost his life to the bullets fired from an AK47. He is survived by a wife and daughter (just like Sanjay Dutt) who's only 18 months old. Major Manish never said 'I have a daughter' before he took the decision to attack the terrorists in the darkest of nights. He never thought about having a family and he being the bread earner. No news channel covered this since they were too busy hyping a former drug addict, a suspect who's linked to bomb blasts which killed hundreds. Their aim was to show how he defied the TADA charges and they were so successful that his conviction in possession of armory had no meaning. They also concluded that his parents in heaven must be happy and proud of him. Parents of Major Manish are still living and they have to live rest of their lives without their beloved son. His daughter won't ever see her daddy again. Finally Major Manish, to my generation is a greater hero, someone who laid his life in the name of this great nation.

This is one of the many occasion which clearly indicate the apathy of the Indian media towards the contribution of the great men wholive and die for their duty, for their nation. But, a deeper look always brings me to one conclusion. Newspapers print what their readers like reading. Today, the news of a soldier dying is no more than some irrelevant stuff for the masses. The people simply walk over news sections like - "Soldier dies in terrorist attack!". To us, these things seem so irrelevant. The basic perseption of a hero, a role model, for the modern youth has changed. Abhishek Bachhan counts over Shaheed Vijayant Thapar in the minds of the Youth. The money and the glamour today, has sufficientlyoverpowered virtues like honesty, sacrifice, patriotism, selfless love, values and on top of it all selfless service. We our loosing the right road to development. We are moving ahead.. but by taking short-cuts. And this in turn is harming the true fabric of this Nation. One often wonders what can he/she do if they really want to do something for the people who died for the country. I pondered over this for a long time. There was hardly anything that came to mind when I was looking at specific instances. But the larger picture made things clearer. They who died, died for this Nation. For this Great Nation and the prosperity and Well Being of it's people. Not all of us can be soldiers on the borders. Not all ofus should be. But the sense of responsibility, the feeling of patriotism should not end at the BORDERS and left for the CORRUPT POLITICS. Kalam is the biggest dreamer of this age. He is the man who has envisioned the Bright, Developed, Prosperos India. And for this, the roqadmap he put down in a neat book - "The Ignited Minds". The question that each one of us should ask ourself is- "What is it that I can do in my life that will make the life of the people around me more menaingful." Each one of us should look at our own self and our skills and see how we can make use of this for Nsational Interest. After all, this is what a soldier does. But this requires sacrificing flimzy personal interests and taking the Hard Road. All I can think of, is dojng my best.. DOING MY BEST FOR THIS NATION. If I do it, I am sure I will feel the same sense sense of pride and the same sense of fulfillment and the same sense of love for all the people who live on this land. At that moment all the HARD ROADS, all the right ways, all the problems will become worthwhile. When I think of Bahagt Singh, the millions of Freedom Fighters, the Numerous Shaheed and all other Patriots.. all I can think of giving them, is a part of my life dedicate dto realizing the same cause they lived and died for.. The Cause of the Motherland.. ... I Hope I realise into action the feelings that I have.

In this materialistic world of today people have forgotten the magnificient history of the counrty and its people.

The so called media is just become an business. They mean moneyand they do everything for the sake of it.

The so called khans, bachans and so on are portrayed as though they are the greatest.Whenevr a movies is released the press goes beyond the o called heroes for interview and they oblige to it.why wouldn't they?FREE PUBLICITY!!!!!!

Today the only factor that drives is money and entertainment....in the course of time peole have forgetten about their responsibilities towardsthe developing nation!!!and by the time they realise its too late?

People tend to forget the diverse and the rich culture of our country. They do not seem to realise the richness of our culture and what this country has given to them.Everybody is inclined towarsd the west.

You can imagine the dirty politics in the country has reached by looking into the recent PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS.Evrybody means power and they want to achieve this at the cost of the NATION through short cuts without knowing the impact this would have.

people have forgotten the basic principles of life.Evrybody wants evrything without putting much effort.

Its high time that we realise our duties towards our MOTHERLAND and do something to make this magnificient, beautiful country a paradise to live in.
