Sankalp India Foundation had an evenful October at Bangalore. Amid all the celebrations and festivities of Dusshera, Diwali volunteers made sure they stuck o their core jobs to ensure the organiation's work never came to a halt. Sankalp India Foundation is a voluntary youth organisation. Yes, a youth organisation. The eledest in the team are just 27 :). The youngest ones are 18.
The entire worforce @ Sankalp follows one mantra. Looking for blood? Call 9480044444. That is the number of the Disha helpline. The helpline guides people to the nearest place where safe blood is available. But sometimes there is no way, there is no place either near or far where the unit is available. What then.
2009 was the year when Sankalp became a full blown state wide organisation. All 3 major workin wings of Sankalp, namely the Emergency Wing, Disha and Rakta Kranti spread their wings. Disha connected the best blood banks across the state to the helpline.
Someone is coming.
Someone is coming once again to my home. Someone is coming with a smiling face. Someone is coming with an extended hand of friendship. Someone is coming as if it is a big time favour to my home.
My nation is going crazy. People are writing news items like "India prepares for SOMEONE". The Netas are brushing their topis and their khaddar kurtas. The capital is being painted. The students are painting. They - the media guys - are talking and talking and talking!
