The Indian Rebellion of 1857, often known as the First War of Indian Independence and the Indian Mutiny,was a prolonged period of armed uprisings in different parts of India against British occupation of that part of the subcontinent. Small precursors of brewing discontent involving incidences of arson in cantonment areas began to manifest themselves in January. Later, a large-scale rebellion broke out in May and turned into what may be called a full-fledged war in the affected regions.

It started on 23rd May, 2005 when few Sankalp Volunteers dreamt of how to better the present blood donation scenario. Few questions arose: If somehow the blood banks were transparent enough to show their blood statistics. How nice it would be if we had a single number which would cater to all blood requirements in Bangalore.

It may be a surprise to find that A, B, O and AB have various subgroups. The A blood type appears to have the most variation in subgroups; several have been found for O's; B subgroups exist but are extremely rare; and AB's have a wide variety, as they can inherit all the possibilities of the A group. Subgroups of the A Blood Type A blood types have the most variation in subgroup of any of the ABO blood types. There are about 20 different known subgroups.
