First blood donation drive by Sankalp in Hukkeri(a taluq in Belgaum). It is a joint camp where Govt. First Grade College, Hukkeri and SSN College, Hukkeri are participating together for a camp.
Both these colleges had participated in the 'Role of Colleges in taking Karnataka towards 100% VBD' organized by Sankalp at Rani Channamma Univeristy, Belgaum in September 2012.

On September 2, 2010, then 35-year-old Shrestha, a retired Gurkha soldier in the Indian army, was on his way to Nepal after retiring from his Gurkha soldier military service whilst 15-40 armed robbers attacked the train in which he was travelling. The group robbed the passengers of their portable valuables (like money, jewellery, cellular phones and laptops). He intervened using his Khukuri knife when the robbers tried to steal the jewelry of a mother and her 8-year-old daughter and attempted to rape an 18 year-old girl who pleaded for his help.
We conducted 6 blood donation drives in the month, collecting 748 units of blood.

In the first week of Jan, the blood stocks were low in the city. Due to new year's eve, companies were not organizing blood drives. ITPB is one of the organizations whom we can bank upon in such crisis situations. And it came to rescue by organizing blood camp in a blood mobile for the first time.
