CTC Disha

We dreamt for connecting blood banks. We thought about having a common point access to all available blood. We looked for a future where a person would make a single call and get the blood he wants. We dreamt of providing a DISHA to the helpless. Two years back when we started work with Disha, it was a huge challenge. But work did start. We explored all possibilities from IVRS to a SMS based network.

Blood Camp @ Capgemini

Due to the heavy shortage of blood throughout the city, a blood donation camp is being Organized at Capgemini. This camp is restricted to the employees of the company. Lions and Rashtrothana Blood Banks will be coming to collect blood. Both the blood banks are linked with Disha so the chances of a person finding blood will be good in the next few days. Cheers

Types of Donation

Living Donation Some organs and tissues can be donated by living people. A healthy body easily replaces blood, blood platelets, and bone marrow, so they can be donated more than once. A person can donate a single kidney or part of the liver while alive. The remaining kidney can provide some of the function of the donated kidney, and the liver grows back (regenerates) to its original size in a few weeks. It is also possible to donate part of one lung, part of the pancreas, or part of the intestine, although these organs do not regenerate.
