Turning Adversity Into Opportunities

Submitted by aurora on

It takes some guts to turn an adversity into an opportunity. Come difficulty, many people get it into a shell. They sympathize with themselves, complain against establishments and expect sympathy, care and concern from others. A few of them, face the difficulty and do all it takes to lead a normal life. Stories of  physically challenged sports persons and individuals are examples. However, there are people with enough mental power to look around and realize that there maybe many more like them. They have the strength and courage to think of a change.

Outside the garden

How does a refrigerator maintain the cool temperature inside? It does so, by disposing off the hot air outside. Even an air conditioner works on the same principle of compressors. This may work fine with machines. But in reality, can human lives be compressed the same way? Can their emotions, their agony, their complaints be compressed?

Volunteering

People often think that volunteering is something that is done in free time. I beg to differ. Volunteering is not a time-pass to be done in free time. Volunteering is not something that should be done to feel good. Volunteering is a sense of duty, a sense of resposibility towards your motherland, towards society. Volunteering, in fact is a way to pay back your debt.

Kargil War

If death strikes before I prove my blood,

I swear to God, I’ll kill death!

-Cap. Manoj Kumar Pandey

Kargil war was fought between India and Pakistan between May and July 1999. Main cause of war was the infiltration of Pakistani troops and militants in the Kargil, Dras and other parts of Indian border. This war was the only instance of a direct armed confrontation between two nuclear states. Indian response to this infiltration was termed Operation Vijay.
